I’m Kelly Marages, an editor, writer, and strategist who just wants to entertain you and make everything in the world sound better.

I started in magazines back in the aughts, climbing from Assistant to the Executive Editor all the way to Executive Editor itself, the big cheese of editorial. Now I do editorial and creative strategy in the branding, marketing, and business realms.

In 2020, I founded the newsletter Shirley Books, because there are so many good books not written by a Jonathan. I have an MFA from Bennington College and currently have a novel in progress called House, Wife. My short stories have appeared in Bridge Eight, Coda Quarterly, Crack the Spine, Selfish, and Hayden’s Ferry Review as a runner-up in their annual flash fiction contest.
